The International Rugby Board (IRB) has invited four Zambian coaches and match officials to undergo an IRB Level Three course at the Western Province Academy in Stellenbosch in South Africa this month.
According to Zambia Rugby Football Union General Secretary Martin Musunka, The IRB has asked Zambia to nominate two coaches and two referees to undergo Part One of the course scheduled for October 23-25.
The target group is coaches and referees that are in possession of an IRB level 2 Certificate that are active and in good standing with their unions.
They should also be able to attend Part Two of the course whose dates will be finalised on the last day of part one.
Participants should be able to complete written assignments between parts 1 and 2 of the course.
The Zambia Rugby Football Union (ZRFU) has already consulted the Zambia Rugby Coaches Association (ZRCA) and the Zambia Rugby Referees Society (ZRRS) to submit their preferred candidates. The two associations have already submitted the names of the members to undergo the course.
The ZRFU is currently studying the names and the final decision will be submitted to the organisers of the course before end of business on Monday 5 October.
We shall continue exposing our coaches and referees to advanced training to ensure that they are abreast with the improvements in the rugby fraternity.
We are confident that the nominees from Zambia will successfully complete the course.
