Old, tired leaders must retire, says HH

United Party for National Development (UPND) has advised the electorate to choose leaders who have vision and the people’s aspirations at heart.
UPND President Hakainde Hichilema called on Zambians to retire old politicians and usher into office young people with fresh ideas.
Hichilema said only when the country has credible leaders that prioritize the welfare of the citizens can the nation develop and boast of proper economic growth.

And HakaindeHichilema has called on Zambians to remain united and peaceful as the nation goes to the elections scheduled for this year.

Hichilema said Zambians should work together and ensure that they safeguard the peace and unity that the country has been enjoying over the years.

He said this on Sunday when he addressed a huge rally at Lusaka’s Chawama grounds.

Hichilema said Zambians have a duty to safeguard the security of the nation and that they should not use the coming elections to cause anarchy.

“Zambia is for all Zambians, whether Tonga, Bemba, Lozi, Kaonde or any other tribe. We have to work together and ensure that we maintain peace and unity before, during and after the elections.

“We have a duty to protect the interests of the nation, and this can only be done when there is peace and stability in the country,” he said.

He urged Zambians to vote for him in this year’s elections.

Hichilema said if ushered into office, he would put in place measures that will help promote employment opportunities and wealth creation for the country.

He also said when in office, he will ensure that he comes up with policies that will ensure all workers in the public service start getting a minimum of K5 million as a salary.
