Kunda calls for respect of one Zambia motto

Vice President Gorge Kunda said there is need for Zambians to embrace the spirit of one Zambia one nation, despite their political affiliation .
Mr. Kunda said the Zambian Motto is law and requires every Zambian to respect and embrace it.
The Vice president said the spirit of togetherness exhibited by Zambians especially during traditional ceremonies is a testimony of the peace the country has continued to enjoy since independence .
He was speaking to journalists after he paid a courtesy on Paramount Chief Mpenzeni of the Ngoni people at his palace in Chipata.
He said Traditional ceremonies must be encouraged because they have continued to play an important role in uniting the people and the Nation as a whole.
Meanwhile the Vice President has said Chipata and Eastern province as a whole is designed for economic prosperity because of the handwork of the people and the main government projects being carried out in the area.
Mr. Kunda said this development guarantees the nation of a bright future.
“I have been to Nyimba, Petauke, Katete and Milanzi and I can assure you that this province has a bright future there is no doubt this,” said Mr Kunda
He appealed to people in the province to continue working hard and ensure that Agriculture, which is the economic main stay of the province is developed.
Mr Kunda said government realizes that agriculture can paly an important role in development of the Country adding that government has embarked on a programme to create farming blocks in some parts of the country.
He also said government will ensure that the programme of farming blocks are repealed in all the parts of the country.
Earlier first Republican President Dr Kenneth Kaunda and Second President also paid a courtesy call on paramount Chief Mpenzeni
