Most students at the Zambia Institute of Mass Communications will not be allowed to sit for final exams because they owe the school tuition fees.
This means that third year students would have wasted three years of attending classes and also lost whatever part of the tuition fees and associated costs they have been paying in the past three years.
Just a few days ago, a student admitted to the University of Zambia committed suicide after being denied a government bursary.
ZAMCOM management has refused to collect exam fees from the students because they have not finished paying tuition fees but most students talked to said the bills are too high and they are unlikely to raise the money before the deadline for paying exam fees. Exams are due next month.
Some students were promised scholarships by a certain organisation but it later withdrew because Zamcom management mishandled the process.
Government through sports minister Chishimba Kambwili has said that it is not they rresponsibility to educate citizens.
ZAMCOM is situated between OP and Police headquarters.
