Zesco United return to league action with 4-0 rout of Power Dynamos

Jackson Mwanza and Clatous Chama scored a brace apiece as Zesco United defeated Power Dynamos 4-0 in a rescheduled Week 20 fixture played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Thursday.
Mwanza opened the scoring in the 7th minute before Chama increased the advantage at the stroke of half time.
Mwanza got his second and Zesco’s third in the 75th minute following a corner while Chota wrapped things up with a brilliant individual effort with five minutes remaining on the clock.
The victory kept the defending champions in fifth position with 36 points, sixteen adrift of leaders Zanaco who have played five games more.
The victory also means that Zesco United have done the double over their Kitwe rivals whom they defeated 2-1 on April 2.
Thursday’s match was Zesco United’s first in the MTN FAZ Super League since their 1-1 draw with Mufulira Wanderers on July 12. They have games in hand against Nakambala Leopards, Napsa Stars, Lumwana Radiants, Red Arrows and Forest Rangers.
Their weekend fixture against Nkwazi has been postponed to a later date in order to prepare for a top of Group A Caf Champions League match against Wydad Casablanca scheduled for Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Power Dynamos, fresh from a 1-0 victory over Red Arrows on Sunday stay third on the standings with 40 points.
