This mansion in Silverest is owned by one of the officials of the Zambia National Farmers Union. If ZNFU officials can afford to purchase such houses outrightly and without bank loans or other forms of mortgages , then they are damningly well paid or there is unbridled corruption going on there. Compare this ‘castle’ with the mud huts the poor farmers ZNFU is supposedly representing sleep in. We understand that Pride Mwelwa, the ZNFU official who bought this house is 34 year old and purchased this mansion within 2 years of his employment. He, we hear, is one of the persons who compiled an audit report detailing theft of Millions of donor funds at ZNFU. Was it sour grapes or he was speaking from what he knows as evidenced by this mansion which is clearly a product of plunder? If a junior official managed to acquire this, what did the bosses get?
