A South Africa based professor has submitted to the Roger Chongwe commission of inquiry in the Mongu riots that the people of Barotseland want nothing but secession.
Professor Sitwala Imenda who traveled to Zambia to make submission also told Chongwe and his group that the people of Barotseland are ready to immediately enter into talks with Zambia on how to separate.
Professor Sitwala who is the Executive Dean of Education at Zululand University said the people of Barotseland are sick and tired of being treated as second class citizens.
He said the people from the western part of Zambia have been blacklisted and even sidelined in getting employment.
He said since Zambia terminated the Barotseland agreement in 1969, the people of Barotseland have accepted the termination.
He said the people of Barotseland are tired and sick of living in perpetual fear of wrongful detentions, malicious and targeted prosecutions.
He said the people of western province are tired and sick of being manipulated and intimidated
He said their freedom has been deferred and postponed for a long time and that it can no longer be postponed.
